Guess what I watched last night?

Out of respect for my husband, I didn't blog last night....but today is a different story!

So, so, so excited that the Bronco's won!!
Don't get me wrong, I love the Steelers, but I love an underdog MORE!

What a game!

My daughter didn't know which way to turn.  The Steelers are HER team, but she has been in love with Tebow for a while now (as in love as a 17 year old can be!) - so funny.......

I know I've talked about him in a few blog posts, so does everyone know who Tebow is today? Hmmm?

Football

Hubby was happy!

Go STEELERS!  Bring on the J-E-T-S.....Jets, Jets, Jets......

There is some irony there, isn't there??? Let's see who understands it!

Uconn Football

I KNOW they are the underdog....I KNOW that NO ONE is predicting them to win or come even close in the score...but since I have two kids who have gone there, I have to say....

GO UCONN!!!!!!!!!!!

More updates....

I feel like all I've been giving is updates, but I have been swamped with so many things....(hence the name of the blog :)  )

Update on Nonni - she is doing well.  I "sat" for her this week twice and she was doing very well.  She still needs help to walk which is fine, but she is doing awesome with her memory/brain function (She can do seek-a-word puzzles better than most).  She knew my name (always very important!!).  She watched the Yankee game and Dancing with the Stars and everyone who has been "sitting" for her says she is doing great!!  I am hoping in a couple of more weeks to take her back to church!

CSA Today:
6 ears of corn (yes, more corn cob jelly coming up...you have to try this! - remind me to give you a 1/2 pint)
1 Zucchini
2 Yellow Squash
3 Cucumbers
2 Turnips
4 Tomatoes
1/2 lb of string beans
1 Dozen eggs (but I switched it out and got another 1-1/2 lbs of string beans - more for the freezer - we will be eating a lot of string beans this winter)
2 heads of green leaf lettuce

Work is going well, I am busy, so that is always good!  Teaching Zumba four nights a week plus all my other jobs, so I'm not complaining as I know others who still don't have a job.

Lots and lots of rain here in the northeast - the chicken coop looked like a pond this morning - it is time to move it to a grassier area of the lawn (although, I am seriously thinking about getting a new coop for the winter)!

Cleaned the kitchen this week - really cleaned it - it was quite bad!!!!  Next project is the attic - I need to throw away stuff I have been saving since my kids were in library school  - they were two and three years old (so for almost twenty years I have been saving this stuff)......With the change of weather, comes the change in wardrobe, so I need to take down my winter clothes and start looking for some new things.  It is fall.......time to cleanse and simplify!

Dad is doing okay - just the normal fatigue that comes 24 -72 hours after a big chemo treatment.  There is a walk for cancer this Saturday morning at the local hospital.  I'll be there right after Zumba.

Going to watch my nephew play football this weekend - it should be fun!

I still have tons of green tomatoes in the garden - they don't seem to be turning red.....
I'll be picking peas this week, too.

My daughter was invited to the local high school formal dance at the end of November.  She is searching for a dress now on the internet.  I'll be in dress-finding mode in a few weeks.....

My fried chicken from last weekend came out wonderful - thank you Nonni in heaven for the recipe!  I hadn't had it in years.  Local chicken from the CSA....so nice!

While I've been "sitting" for Nonni and watching TV with her, I've taken up crocheting again.  I should be done with one afghan for my nephew for Christmas within the next two weeks or so.  (hopefully).  I would really like to get another one done by Christmas but I'm not pushing it.  I did find another project that I would like to try to make for Christmas gifts this year.  (last year it was the aprons)  I'll let you know when I get a better handle on what this project entails!

That is enough for today - I will try to stay more current this weekend!

Giants Stadium

I went to Giants Stadium today. It was freezing cold. It snowed and sleeted and rained and was miserable, but...The Ramapo Raiders won the NJ state football championships (my nephew Jesse's team). And the team my daughter cheers for, Notre Dame of West Haven, came in first in the CT state football Championship. What a wonderful day for everyone!

Jesse got hurt, though, so we are praying that all goes well with his knee.

Here are some pictures of the game in NJ.

Busy...

I haven't been able to post too much this week....Last weekend just tuckered me out.

Worked all week, ran two days, did Zumba two days, worked only one side job (Praise the Lord). Waiting for another two side jobs to e-mail me with their work.

Tomorrow, I'll be picking up my next CSA in the morning and then heading to the Meadowlands in NJ for my nephew's state high school championship. On an even more ironic note, my daughter's team is playing tomorrow for the CT state high school football championship. But she has opted to go to NJ instead. We have a coach bus taking a very large group, so I'll be sure to post pictures over the weekend.

Thanksgiving

It was a wonderful day, plenty of food, drink and family and friends.

I was exhausted....Race first thing in the morning - 5K and I did 28:21 - not my best, but not bad...
Elizabeth's game - Notre Dame won! And then dinner with 30 people and then cards for the night. Great, great time.....

I am thankful for all the wonderful family that I have.

Pittsburgh

We went to Pittsburgh for our annual trip to see the Steelers. We had a wonderful, fantastic time! We went to new restaurants, found some awesome shopping, enjoyed spectacular weather (66 degrees) (for PITTSBURGH in November). I love that city!
Our team lost (they played horrible, they deserved to lose)! We had some flight issues, BUT (big but) it was one of the best vacations I have had. Thank you Debbie and Tony for your friendship and all the laughs!

Friday Night Lights

My daughter had another game on Friday night and my husband got to come and watch her cheer as he didn't have a game until today (Saturday). We won (it was a beating!) but my daughter had a little fever, so she didn't feel too great. She seems fine today, but who knows...there is so much going around.

I got my fifth CSA today....fun, fun, fun. I par-cooked and froze so much stuff already. I love this!

Friday Night Lights

The team that my husband coaches, is playing their OLD rival for the first time in many, many years.

Good luck tonight, Thomas......

Friday Night Football

My daughter is a cheerleader. She goes to an all girls school and she cheers for a school which is all boys. She loves to cheer at football games. My husband coaches another high school football team. (These two teams do not play each other this year.) So Friday night, I went and watched my daughter cheer at one game and then we went to the last quarter of my husband's teams football game. My daughter's team won, my husband's team lost. Good thing I like football...

This is how Fridays will be for the season. And then on Sundays....the Pittsburgh Steelers!
