Smathers Beach - Key West

Smathers Beach is located right across the street from our hotel on Key West.  It is on the quiet side of the island (as compared to Duval Street - where all the action is!).

It is a man made beach and I'm really not a fan of the water here.  There was a lot of seaweed this year.  However, the temperature was perfect (about 78 degrees) for laying in the sun and relaxing.  They import (literally) the sand from somewhere else to form this beach which is about a mile long.  We rented chairs and walked.
