Apple picking with the trips
This was our fourth year in a row to take the triplets apple pickings - what a good time! (hubby actually came this year!)
Honeycrisps and Gala apples. They were expensive this year. I'm embarrassed to tell you how much we spent on apples.
But they were so good. We have a lot left and I'll get to canning them this weekend. But so far, I've made six quarts. I've already given some away and we have eaten it too. Honeycrisps make an extremely sweet applesauce. No sugar needed or added and yet it tasted like we added a cup or two!

Gosh, it seems like just the other day you were picking berries! Where did summer go?
I haven't made sauce from the Honeycrisps...I'll have to try it this year. I'm always anxious for that first Macintosh of the season!
