The week and weekend are over...

It was a crazy busy week again.  I ran the Bible School all week from 9 to 12 and then worked all week at my regular job from 1 to 5 and then did my side jobs in the evening or before leaving for Bible School.  I was exhausted, but it was worth it.

I would have said the Bible School was a success.    The parents loved it, the kids loved it, we had 36 kids just about every day and we got about 40-50 people for our final presentation/finale and I thought it was a success.....however, as the priest was praising me on the altar out of one side of his mouth during the Mass, well, right after the Mass, he was telling me how we are going to change it next year (out of the other side of his mouth).  Needless to say, I was pretty ticked off.....Either you like what I did or you don't.....he told me it was too Protestant.....I never heard of such a thing!  They were Bible Readings and Religious songs....what the hell does "too Protestant" mean?  I think my priest (and others) may be good Catholics, but not very good Christians.  Even my husband who doesn't say boo, was sort of surprised that the priest decided that we are going to change the name of CVBS next year to "Summer with God".   Shout out to Sheila Calvert of the Seymour Evangelical Baptist Church for being my mentor.  I refuse to back down on this.  But whatever........shake it off, Maria!!

On Friday night, I got to see our local theatre production perform THE DROWSY CHAPERONE.  Kudos to the cast and crew - what a phenomenal production.  The play itself is hysterical.  If you ever get the chance to see it, please do!!

Saturday night, I went to the Casino.  We had a nice dinner - Pepe's Pizza and then gambled a little, and just people watched.  It was a good time, but leaving at 12;30 am, was just too late for me.

Sunday was my day of rest!  However, I got some canning done - more jam!  (more about that later in the week).  And I got some Zucchini squash flowers made - they were eaten before I could take a picture! Oh well.

It has been cool here for August so far!  Since July was one of the hottest, we will see if August is one of the coolest.....
