My friend Julia is going to have her first child - a very exciting time to say the least.  As soon as I found out, I started to make her a baby blanket.  I used white, green and yellow pastel with some variegated in there.

At the time I started to crochet it, I did not know the sex of the baby (and I had no intention of finding out).  I wanted it to be a surprise until the end.  A few weeks ago, I received the baby shower invitation.  So, I pulled the invitation out of the envelope and lo and behold, the surprise was no longer a surprise!  LOL.  Oh well!

And I finished it with a few weeks to spare!  Now that is a rare, happy occasion!
