My good friend (and sister-in-law) Kathy came over this afternoon and we made 10 pints and 6 half pints of corn cob jelly and violet jelly!

We had a beautiful Palm Sunday brunch at my friend Maryanne's this morning!  Thank you, Maryanne, Catie and Andrew!

January 14th, 2010

As of 4:00 this afternoon, I can truly say that I now have two children (they are actually adults :)) who have graduated from the University of Connecticut. My goodness, where does the time go???? I am getting all weepy just thinking about how far they have come, the troubles they have endured, and how well they have fared!

I could not be any prouder!

Congratulations Dominic.....I can't wait to watch you walk in May!

Good bye, brother

I said good bye to my son tonight (one of his nicknames is brother).  He packed his car and went off to his senior year of college.  The car was full and he was ready to head back.  He will unpack and start his classes tomorrow.  He has the same apartment so there really wasn't much for him (or I) to do.  One trip to BJ's for food, one trip to the cold room for supplies from me, three loads of laundry and he was ready to go.

Bittersweet.  I'll miss him!

Back to School/Work Week

My daughter heads back to school on Wednesday and my son heads back to college this weekend.  AND my oldest son just got a job.  Life is good!!!!!!  (From a mom's perspective!)

My oldest got a job in his field in psychology.  It isn't a police officer job, but it can be a stepping stone.  He will be working with 5-13 year old boys in an alternative school.  The job is a 45 minute drive, but not so bad.  He has to go to HR this week and get all his paperwork done and then he will start in two weeks.  I'm very excited for him.  I think he is excited too, but kids that age, don't tell you that!

It was a great day for my son's college graduation party....beautiful weather, not too hot, not too cold, no rain, a little cloudy....perfect.  I'm exhausted, but it was nice.  I'll post pictures soon!

Graduation

Busy weekend ahead...

Tomorrow, I am going to Boston to see the Yankees play the Red Sox.....why???  I don't know!   Hubby wants me to go!???

But Sunday is the best day - and it isn't just for Mom's.  It is for Grad's too!  My son graduates from Uconn.  So, so excited!!!!!

Barbeque at my sister's house later in the day tomorrow for the mom's!!!  Looking forward to a wonderful day!!!!

College years

My oldest son only has one more month at Uconn....then he is officially a college graduate.  Oh my goodness!!!  It has been a rough four years but he managed and he succeeded and he will graduate with a BS in Psychology and a minor in Criminal Justice......he wants to be a police officer.....The road wasn't always smooth but he still managed it in four years.  I am very, very proud of him.

Let's talk about  money....But then again, let's don't!!   Why is college so freaking expensive?  And this is a state school....Not a private University. 

I can't even talk about my second son yet......He is a junior at Uconn and has one more year.....cha-ching...

This Week

I hate when it is already Friday and I haven't been able to post all week. This time of year is so busy....

Monday night - Zumba and then work at the church until almost ten.
Tuesday night - Started my Christmas Cards, got the boys tree done in the cellar (They have a special room with a special tree).
Wednesday night - We took the train to NYC to watch Uconn play at the Garden. Great game! Uconn lost though. The game started really late and we were hard pressed to get home because we all had school and work the next day....needless to say, I didn't get to bed until 1:30 in the morning or so.
Thursday night - Worked for one lawyer, then I did my work for the condo association and the woman that I do checks for, then finished my cards and then grocery shopped and then......I made my first batch of homemade laundry detergent. I had to let it set overnight, so I'll let you all know how it came out....Very exciting.

Needless to say, I was exhausted and headed to bed about 10:45.

My husband stayed up to watch the Steelers....lose, again....

Big weekend coming up.....I'll post more on my Zumba certification once I get it..
