Lent starts this week. I have to prepare the kids in my CCD class for that! It is sad, but they are in fourth grade and some of them don't realize that Lent comes before Easter. Then, we need to discuss the subject of prayer...how to pray and types of prayer.
Going to throw in a little of St. Joseph's Day too (March 19th). Most Italians know what they are talking about when it comes to FAITH, FAMILY, FATHERS and FOOD!

It IS sad that religion is not as important to some families as it once was, for reasons on so many levels. These children (most likely) will not have the lessons learned in the home to carry it forward to their children. Kudos for making CCD lessons "fun" by introducing them to some of the cultural aspects!
P.S. I've already been to my favorite Italian bakery for a St Joseph's Day pastry ;)
